Thank you for visiting the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute web site. Our institute has been in existence for over thirty years. We began with a law enforcement focus, but have grown to include other community life concerns, such as violence against women, domestic relations, and child support enforcement.

Our current law enforcement services are offered nationally and include training programs in topics such as supervision, executive development, performance appraisal, and critical policy development. We also provide organizational assessment and consulting services to help agencies improve, manage, and change their current organization. In Pennsylvania, our Institute is the provider of basic training to all Commonwealth sheriff deputies.

In conjunction with a growing list of Pennsylvania courts, our Family and Domestic Relations area offers court-directed parent education programs for divorcing and separating parents. We also offer program impact evaluation services in areas such as "Arrest Policies to Reduce Domestic Violence." Other services include training for domestic relations professionals, training in conflict resolution techniques, and enforcement of mandated child support.

Please feel free to browse our site.
